"Masthead” knot
The “masthead knot” is used for rigging a jury mast, by placing the center of the knot over the masthead. The knot can also be used as a jar sling, with the four bights serving as handles.
“Sailor’s Breastplate” knot
Symbol of the sailor, this is an ornamental knot used for decorating uniforms and favorite possessions.
